A Butterfly Breaks a Wheel
Red Asphalt was a San Francisco musical group, or "Band", which formed in 1978 and dissolved in 1982. Their first live performance took place at SF's famous Deaf Club. They performed at venues such as Mabuhay Gardens, The Sound of Music, On Broadway, Le Disque, The I-Beam, Elite Club, and many, many others.

While the original group contained neither bass nor lead vocalist, the longest-lived and most beloved lineup was that of:
Trina James - vocals, Scott Davey - synthesizers, Ted Johnson - drums, Ronic Hanik - guitar, Bruno DeSmartass - Bass. Megan Mitchell sang with the band (she's on the first 4 song EP in 1980), Andy Anders played bass and LX Rudis played bass synthesizer.

Davey, Hanik, Johnson, DeSmartass and Rudis all currently reside in San Francisco and nearby, continuing to make music. Trina, unfortunately shuffled off this mortal coil in 2001. The whereabouts of Anders are unknown, not to Anders himself, we trust...........
